We are looking for an experienced Senior Production Operator / Senior Manufacturing Technician to join a growing manufacturing operation in Surrey.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional from a food manufacturing, brewing, fermentation, beverage, dairy, biotechnology or other process manufacturing environment who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.
Pharmaceutical experience is not required.
The Role
As a Senior Production Operator / Senior Manufacturing Technician, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations.
Alongside hands-on production duties, you will provide technical support to the wider team, help maintain production standards and support less experienced operators.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating and monitoring manufacturing and process equipment
- Supporting fermentation, media preparation and manufacturing processes
- Preparing, assembling, operating and cleaning process equipment
- Following manufacturing procedures, SOPs and work instructions
- Completing production documentation and records accurately
- Monitoring processes and identifying potential issues
- Supporting equipment troubleshooting and process investigations
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, housekeeping and contamination control
- Supporting production schedules and achieving manufacturing targets
- Identifying and contributing to process improvements
- Providing technical guidance and support to Production Operators
- Supporting the training and development of less experienced team members
- Coordinating day-to-day production activities when required
- Escalating quality, safety and operational issues appropriately
- Promoting a strong culture of quality, safety and teamwork
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong experience in process or manufacturing operations
- Background in food manufacturing, brewing, fermentation, beverage, dairy, biotechnology or similar industries
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and process control
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
- Excellent health and safety awareness
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues
- Experience mentoring, supporting or training other operators
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A reliable, hands-on and proactive approach
- Flexibility to work evenings, nights and weekends
