'I've now got a permanent job, my own place, and gained some independence again. I'll always be grateful To KFM for helping me get back on my feet when times were hard.'

Leaving university and moving back in with my parents was tough for me. I felt like I'd gone backwards. I didn't have my own space anymore, but I had no choice – I couldn't afford to move out.

KFM Recruitment had helped me before, but I was only looking for temporary work, whereas now I needed a permanent job. I was unsure if they could help but got in touch anyway because I was doing whatever I could to find something.

Looking back, I'm glad I did. I explained to Emma, one of their recruiters, that I needed to find a permanent job. Within a few days, I was working.

To begin with, it was a temporary role, but Emma told me to work hard, and there was a good chance of a permanent job at the end of it.

I got my head down and worked hard for the next few weeks. I didn't mind the work; I'd done a bit of production previously, and the guys weren't bad to work alongside. The job suiting me was a bonus, but I'd have taken whatever I could get at that time to be fair.

Just 12 weeks in, the permanent job offer came. Thankfully, they'd seen my work ethic and wanted to keep me. Nothing really changed other than I had that reassurance of money coming in long term. There was no real adjustment because I'd spent the previous months working there anyway, so I already felt part of their team.

Emma kept me updated throughout as I switched from KFM candidate to permanent worker. I also spoke with KFM's payroll team, who reassured me I'd be paid any remaining holidays.

I was just happy to be earning my own money, and for the first time in a while, I felt I was moving in the right direction. The added security of knowing money was coming in every month meant I could start looking to move out.

I've now got a permanent job, my own place, and gained some independence again. I'll always be grateful To KFM for helping me get back on my feet when times were hard.
